At co. Rudolph the Karmann Ghia celebrated a brilliant GFRP-rebirth, built on a reinforced Beetle chassis - and not even expensive.
The Replicas are, at least when opened, recognizable only on the third view as such - and only by connoisseurs of matter. The plastic body appears everywhere cleanly processed, from the proportions a "genuine clone". An alternative to an at least twice as expensive restoration of an original, especially since there are no more originality limits set for a further play instinct, which concerns engines and suspension, etc.
The company Rudolph offers a pure roadster convertible top for its replica, without padding and headliner. This is not so bad - but it is not really good either: Due to the inverted folding mechanism, it is fiddly, does not expand as good as it could and a certain fold is inevitable, so to speak with guaranty.
An original convertible top could also be adapted indeed - if available. Of course at a completely different price level.
The clone would be perfect.
Be that as it may, we copied the Rudolph convertible top without much trouble and on this occasion made some improvements. The side windows are placed in a more upholstered bag, as it is at the Alfa Fastback Spider or the Maserati Mistral ... etc.

In the course of mounting, the convertible top must be attached to the B-pillar on the frame.
It seems that the problem has already been recognized on the light blue Classic Roadster which is pictured on the Rudolph homepage. At the other Roadsters the convertible top moves backwards and there occurs a gap.
However:
The Roadster top must be properly fixed there and the location for the screw/rivet on the convertible top must be reinforced according to the tensile load acting on it.
