The sportcoupé on a Beetle basis has been existing for a small 750,- DM extra charge also as a convertible since 1957. The elegantly sporty VW Karmann Ghia (by the way, not "chia", but "gia") looked even faster when standing than the "fast Beetle" Porsche 356 ever drove.
Even when THAT regarding the driving performance of the K.G. remained an empty promise:
A lack of taste or even a lack of aesthetics can not really be blamed on the creators of this car!
The Karmann Ghia has a timelessly baroque-modern form and is in the lead as a style icon of the automotive industry in terms of form design.
