Porsche 911 Type 993 - The last and undoubtedly successful follow-up of the "real", air-cooled 911!
The then new boss W. Wiedeking ensured a comprehensive model maintenance and the legitimate success saved Porsche from ruin.
In the convertible, the soft top was also completely revised.
The 911 also received a headliner, which deserved this name, but the whole intricate construction was finally in ONE PIECE, thus freed from its totally superfluous complexity.
Within the framework of the type and styling-related specifications, everything was clearer, more logical and simpler - and thus better!
And then THIS look:
Also closed, the 911 looks like a 911 has to look like.
Goodbye patchwork design!

For Porsche owners who like to "tune" - and do not lose sight of the sense of the practical: Attention!
Here is our CK-Cabrio in-house development:
Convertible top with glass window - including a new headliner!
From the need that the kinematics of the linkage function of the 911 993 Cabriolet does not allow to insert simply a glass window, has finally become a virtue:
We have shortened the window in the height, but we could even expand it in the width - for a better view AND look.
The width is the primary decisive feature for the field of view.
The limitations of the visibility at the CK-Cabrio upgrade/retrofit to glass are therefore more of theoretical nature.
The Porsche 911 993 Cabriolet looks like a Speedster version with the closed glass window convertible top!
It is a bit of chillipepper, which the 911 993 well tolerates!
And no additional PVC care, fully heated (the customer must take care of the cabling, we are no auto-electrics) and above-average even quieter than before at high speeds (!) ("German Autobahn tested").
No vibrations, shaking, ... or the like.
With this glass window, we and you, concerning the folding, are absolutely on the safe side, since the tolerances need not even be used here in this classical old model - completely in line with an esthetic optimization.
A new headliner is part of the delivery due to the connection to the shape of the glass rear window.
The headliner can also be changed again later, as before.
The fact is that the 993 headliner often already shows signs of wear.
The Speedster-style convertible top is made with the smooth seam which is typical for the newer Porsche models.
In the closed state, this supports a perfected "hardtop look".
The 993 appears wide and flat, racy/sporty - and equally solid.
The new headliner is part of the delivery!
The assembly of a 911 993 softtop is much more complex and time-consuming than it may seem at first glance. It takes us approximately 8 - 9 hours to get it done.
