In 2011, the third facelift of the 911 Series came out.
According to another count, the 991er is considered as the seventh generation.
And, of course, it became the best 911 of all time, again - what else? The incarnation of a sports car was once again "wider, stronger, faster" and thus confirmed its unique selling point in this class on the pole position as a everyday racer.
Sorry, Audi R8, Ferrari, Corvette, Lambo, McLaren, ...
The way in which performance is offered here at the penalty is indeed unique.
The convertible received a completely new roof construction. The substructure made of foldable shells makes the closed top look like a covered hardtop.
Almost too perfect, but again unique. My rating "too perfect" is due to the circumstance that after a relatively short period of time at some folds of the convertible top signs of wear and tear become apparent. These are technically marginal, - do nothing to the point.
But it can be seen - and then somehow disturbs this perfected look.
Two to three times in the lifespan of a 991 convertible top we can almost completely and literally magic away these traces of use, but at this point I will have to move on. A good magician never reveals his best tricks.
Be that as it may, the 911 convertible of the 991 Series has an appealing and downright beguiling esthetic. Especially when it's closed.
