Toys from Zuffenhausen!
In 1989, a small series of about 1,000 Porsche 911 G-model Speedster was built. In 1993, another 1,000 cars of the 911/964 followed. More of a 911 Cabriolet doesn’t work!
Due to the high collector’s value of the Speedster, originality stands in first place.
What we offer isn’t a copy but a clone of the two original Speedster soft tops. These kinds of soft tops have been manufactured manually with the exact same equipment we use.
We widened the top material for the first series above both side windows. This should have be done from the beginning but at that time, the top wasn’t of much interest - for quite understandable reasons.
For us now it is - also understandable.
We consider the soft top design of the second series as more aesthetic as well as more sophisticated technically.
Some customers have ordered this version for their Speedster Series 1 and it got installed successfully (see the corresponding picture in the gallery). Apparently, it does work. We haven’t yet installed it ourselves, though.
But for us, there’s no doubt: It fits much better the design of the Speedster bodywork and is a Porsche original soft top, as well.
But of course it's all a matter of taste. The owner may decide whether it’s “applicable”.
You want to buy some German engineered awesomeness, but you’re not from the United States or Canada? Feel free to contact us, too.
The assembly of a 911 Speedster softtop is much more complex and time-consuming than it may seem at first glance. It takes us approximately 8 - 9 hours to get it done.
