The "reng-deng-deng" three-cylinder two-stroker was designed as a DKW/Auto-Union competitor to the Beetle Convertible, but did not go beyond an absolute niche of the short, one-year construction period.
This front-wheel drive vehicle with its four-speed(!) steering column gearshift is surprisingly good and nippy, has been manufactured very well - and is absolutely reliable with correct maintenance.
Besides, he looks gorgeous - something like a shrunken road cruiser from this time.
The DKW F12 1964/1965 is a real 60s classic for lovers and connoisseurs!
