Ian Callan designed the DB7 by analogy with the Jaguar XK/XKR. Their similarities are hard to neglect. Even regarding its motor, the compressor unit of the Jaguar XJ Sport was used initially. The development of the DB7 can be seen as a huge leap forward towards the design of a modern era. The DB7 still appears fresh today, especially as Volante (Italian: “airy, light, flying”). But only with the twelve-cylinder engine the car fulfilled the very special style of the iconic brand Aston Martin again. “Stirred, not shaken!” (You know who said that.) The Aston was and is said to be the gentleman sports car par excellence. But not to forget - a gentleman can quickly turn into a thug if necessary.
That’s exactly what an Aston Martin stands for.

Mounting the Aston Martin softtop is much work for a specialist. The glass panel (not included) is seperate from the soft top. The top gets installed while the original panel is retained.
